FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - December 3, 2009 - Minneapolis, MN
OGI Eyewear and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities Partner to provide glasses to children.
Each year, an overwhelming number of children in the United States go undiagnosed with potentially serious vision problems. Poor vision can greatly impact a child’s ability to function in school as well as in their daily lives. Healthy vision helps to build self-esteem and improves performance in school. In most cases, poor vision can easily be detected and treated with a proper eye exam. For some children, a trip to the eye doctor is simply not possible. To better assist children with vision needs, Minneapolis-based OGI Eyewear has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities to create a unique opportunity to provide children with eyecare necessary for success in school and daily life.
Big Brothers or Sisters (mentors) who feel their Little Brothers or Sisters (mentees) may benefit from this program will be issued vouchers. Each voucher will entitle the bearer to a complimentary eye exam at a participating location along with his or her choice of an OGI frame and a pair of lenses.
OGI Eyewear and Big Brothers Big Sisters are pleased to work together to promote eye health and further enrich the lives of young people. Through better vision, the future of our youth becomes a little bit clearer.
